05/25The Provo City Facility Services Division of the Administrative Services Department is looking for a part-time laborer whose primary responsibility will be to coordinate the sale of City surplus items. Qualified individuals interested in supporting the services provided to Provo City residents by performing the duties described herein are strongly encouraged to apply.
What is the compensation?
Pay: $19.65 per hour.

What will I do?
Coordinate the sale of City surplus items, including photographing items for sale, writing descriptive and helpful auction ads, posting the listing and managing the auctions on surplus site, communicating with bidders, coordinating/scheduling pick up of items, and removing item from website once complete.
Perform general labor tasks to include the following: various tasks as instructed by the supervisor
Setting up rooms and events
Cleaning, checking fluids, and fueling City carpool vehicles
Assist other staff members as directed and perform other related work as required.
What are the requirements to apply?
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Any additional training or experience that would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the job.
Valid, lawful Driver License.
Age 18 at the time of appointment.
Preference will be given to candidates with basic computer and website maintenance experience.
What are the hours?
Monday through Thursday. 20 hours per week; flexible hours, schedule to be determined with supervisor.
What are the physical and environmental factors?
This work requires walking, bending, climbing ladders, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 80 pounds, and being able to move quickly and assume uncomfortable positions for extended periods when necessary. This position may also require working in adverse weather conditions.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on May 26, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
