Job Summary

The Laborer position is responsible for supporting client needs by performing manual labor in support of projects.

Essential Functions

  • Perform manual labor including operating small hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform heavy labor such as carrying and lifting materials and other activities.
  • Promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures for work performed, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation of task.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures and accept accountability for safe work practices.
  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations, shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
  • Support the craftsman position assigned to.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work well with others in an environment that includes harsh weather conditions, diversified personalities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow workers.
  • Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow Bristol client safety programs and regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload. Ability to follow directions and support to crew.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives. Scratch out client representatives.
  • Ability to relate to and work with personnel at all levels of an organization required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Laborer is never assigned alone.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Education and Experience

  • First AID/AED Certificate

  • Mobility: must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Hearing: must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform the above listed tasks in a safe manner and perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Lifting: must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
