Job Description

  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Responsible for phlebotomy (adult and pediatric) including collection of various laboratory samples as and when required.

  1. Responsible for performing Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical pathology, basic Microbiology, Serology and specially requested tests on patients’ specimens as per laid down and approved laboratory standard operating procedures. Responsible for results validation and reconfirmation if required, including abnormal and critical results.

  1. Duly notifies the patient care unit or physician of any critical test results. Interacts professionally with all department members, physicians’ staff, administration and the Director of Clinical Laboratory and Pathology for daily day today laboratory practices.

  1. Records and maintains Covid-19 protocols in DHA Hasana platform and notifying positive cases to DHA (Covynotify) on daily basis.

  1. To perform and follow quality assurance programmes for various laboratory sub-departments including internal and external quality assurance.

  1. Uses and maintains all laboratory equipment correctly including daily checks and routine maintenance and records for the various instruments in the laboratory.

  1. Perform basic blood bank procedures including daily quality assurance and maintaining appropriate blood bank record.

  1. To observe and follow laboratory safety protocols and precautions including infection control practices by using appropriate PPE’S and approved procedures and helps in prevention or containments of the effects of adverse incidents.

  1. Shall maintain the confidentiality of the patient information and follow the ethics and professional behavior while on assign duties.

  1. To attend and follow continuous medical education and training program.

  1. To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations, EIAC/ISO15189:2012 requirements & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

  1. QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS

    1. Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

  1. At least two (2) years of Medical Laboratory experience.

  1. Currently licensed in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai UAE.

  1. Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
