Job Description

The Laboratory Technician in the quality department is responsible for conducting tests and inspections on diecast products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This role involves working closely with the quality engineering team to identify and resolve quality issues, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Testing and Inspection: Perform laboratory tests on diecast products, raw materials, and in-process materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Data Recording: Accurately record and analyze test results, and report findings to the Quality Engineer.
• Quality Control: Identify and troubleshoot any issues or deviations in test results, and collaborate with the quality engineering team to implement corrective actions.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of all tests performed and their results. Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations within the laboratory. Ensure that all testing procedures follow established protocols and standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing procedures and overall quality assurance.
• Training: Provide training and guidance to junior laboratory staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the diecasting or automotive parts industry.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Knowledge: Understanding of quality control standards, laboratory safety protocols, and diecasting processes.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
