The State Hygienic Laboratory (Iowa’s Environmental and Public Health Laboratory), at the University of Iowa, under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Laboratory Technician II in the Coralville, Iowa facility.The position is to contribute to the Environmental Microbiology section of the State Hygienic Laboratory (SHL).Within a high-volume, fast-paced environmental laboratory, under direct supervision, performs technical and allied duties related to the function of an accredited laboratory.
Position Status: 1 Year Term
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. with possible weekends and Holidays
Work Location Coralville, Iowa

Qualifications:
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
·Two years of related laboratory experience including one year as a Laboratory Technician I, or equivalent level experience, or
·Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification, or
·Any combination of related post high school education and experience which totals two years.
Desirable Qualifications:
·Ability to perform tasks that require accuracy, attention to detail, including accurate record keeping.
·Basic environmental lab testing experience (e.g., water or other environmental testing) in high throughput lab setting.
·Basic familiarity with state and federal environmental testing regulations.
