Laboratory Technician I

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician I to join our team on an interim basis. You will perform lab tasks such as (immuno)histochemical staining, in situ hybridization, and STARLIMS sample handling, while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with protocols.

Operates within a specific laboratory section to produce analytical results as requested.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities as ordered by departmental supervisors. Tasks can include, but are not limited to: (immuno)histochemical staining, in situ hybridization and using STARLIMS for sample handling and documentation
• Ensure the sample material is correctly handled
• Store samples/subsamples in the correct storage location. Operate equipment correctly to obtain accurate analyses. Work meticulously and pay attention to detail
• Provide input on reagent stock status and the functioning of equipment to the lab supervisor/manager
• Report results, errors, and observations as required
• Use the LIMS, DMS, and QMS systems as appropriate
• Ensure the working environment is clean and organized at all times

Education

• Technical degree in laboratory science and technology (MSc, BSc, or graduate degree), or relevant experience working in a laboratory

Main Requirements

• Basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
• Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
• Works under close supervision
• Eager and a team player
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge and understanding of Dutch and English (oral and written)

Working Conditions

• Temporary interim contract
• Working schedule: Monday, Wednesday to Saturday (start time 8:00-8:30 AM)
