An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in custom built laboratories within the Ecotoxicology Department of Environmental Risk Sciences, Smithers Ltd. Based in Harrogate, we are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician, ideally with previous GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and/ or laboratory experience.
The role is varied in nature and includes general housekeeping and cleaning, culturing and maintenance of organisms, routine maintenance of equipment and laboratory supplies. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and be mainly lab based.
The role is 35 hours per week (with a full-time equivalent salary),from 9:00 till 12:30 on Saturday and 8:15am to 4:30pm Tuesday to Thursday.

Qualifications and Experience
Required minimum qualifications are relevant A Level, or equivalent in a related scientific subject.
Interested applicants should have excellent IT skills, be well-organised, enthusiastic and demonstrate a hands-on approach to work with an ability to use their initiative and apply knowledge. Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential.
