Laboratory Technician - Newmarket

About the Role

Here at Kinisla, we're currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Newmarket, County Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for swapping and testing of factory areas within Kinisla Newmarket Laboratory which is CLAS accredited for both Micro and Chemical testing.

What you’ll be doing

  • Environmental Swabbing of factory areas
  • Staff swabbing
  • Record keeping on LIMS system
  • Routine laboratory checks e.g. balances, Incubators, fridges etc.
  • Familiarity will be obtained with the CLAS Accreditation system
  • Microbiological and Chemical analysis of factory products
  • Use of a wide range of machines e.g., Quant NIR (Rapid Moisture, Fat and Salt), Delta Lactoscope (Fat, Protein, Lactose, Casein, TSolids), Fluorophos (Phosphatase In Milk), Cryoscope (Added Water In Milk), Neogen Soleris (Coliforms, Enterobacter, E. Coli in Cheese.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Third level qualification in the field of Science
  • Good communication and a good team player
  • Working on own incentive when training has been completed
  • Be able and willing to do shift work
