Laboratory Technician

Fixed-Term Full-Time Role ending October 2026

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Serology Team and support our wider laboratory operations based in Wellington.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build their scientific career within a fast-paced and highly regulated laboratory environment. The successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring sample tests are completed accurately, recorded using the correct methods, and processed within agreed timeframes. You will also ensure samples are correctly stored or disposed of following testing procedures.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role through to October 2026, working Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

About You

This role would suit a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry or Biological Sciences who is looking to gain valuable industry experience.

Previous experience in a commercial laboratory environment and knowledge of ELISA testing would be advantageous, however full training will be provided for the successful applicant.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative team-focused approach
  • A strong customer service mindset
  • The ability to follow processes accurately within a highly regulated industry

Previous experience in a commercial laboratory environment and knowledge of ELISA testing would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided for the successful applicant.
