About the role

We are currently seeking a Red Cell Reference Technician to provide support to the Red Cell Reference Team. Activities will include performing routine and urgent specimen reception and registration (patient and donor) using the electronic sample management system. Routine equipment maintenance and solution and reagent preparation. Managing stock levels and ordering reagents and consumables using BHUB.

You will continually look for ways to optimise work processes, actively learning and adapting your approach to achieve great outcomes. You will act with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm and be able to relate openly and comfortably with everyone. You will value interpersonal savvy and self-awareness and reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, making you a valued contributor.

  • Relevant diploma in a biomedical discipline or working towards a relevant qualification (or >3 years’ experience in a lab)  
  • Previous experience working in a lab desirable but not essential
  • Customer focused with the ability to identify improvement initiatives
  • Outstanding team player who supports the achievement of shared goals
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and problem-solving skills
