About the role

We are seeking Lab Technician’s with gold experience to join the operations team at the Mount Carlton Gold Operation as the site transitions through refurbishment, ramp-up and into steady-state operations.

This role will be offered on a Max Term Full Time Contract and will see you work a 8/6 Roster Days/Nights. This role will be DIDO/BIBO from the Townsville Region. Accommodation and Meals are supplied whilst on site.

Duties will include but not be limited to:-

  • Conduct sample preparation including filter pressing, drying, weighing, crushing, particle sizing, pulverising, and splitting of plant samples
  • Perform routine gold and base metal analysis of using wet chemistry techniques
  • Operate laboratory equipment including AAS and sulphur analysers.
  • Perform routine analysis of cyanide solutions
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of assay results in laboratory systems
  • Maintain QA/QC procedures including use of standards, blanks, and duplicates
  • Monitor sample integrity and maintain strict chain of custody processes
  • Support metallurgical test work and plant performance monitoring
  • Assist with troubleshooting by providing reliable and consistent analytical data
  • Conduct operational maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe work practices within the laboratory
  • Adhere to site safety, environmental, and compliance requirements at all times
  • Collaborate with operations and metallurgical teams to meet production targets

To be successful in this role, you will have:-

  • Previous experience in a mineral processing or gold laboratory environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Computer literacy for data entry and reporting systems
  • Current Mining, Minerals and Quarries Medical – desirable
  • Strong safety mindset with a commitment to following procedures and site standards.
  • Current Australian Drivers License – Essential
  • Right to Work in Australia – Essential
