Position Details:
- Title: Laboratory Technician
- Schedule: 8:30am - 5:00pm, M-F, with some flexibility.
- Location: Gibbstown, NJ (08027)
- Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of lab experience, with 3D printing preferred.
- Salary Range: $23.00 – $30.00 hourly, based on experience and qualifications.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in development and verification of formulas.
- Perform cost analysis of formulations.
- Identify, qualify, and evaluate offset raw materials.
- Test, evaluate and qualify new raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Identify important scale up parameters and plant equipment to safely manufacture new formulations.
- Complete R&D projects and prepare reports/project summaries, as required.
- Assist laboratory personnel in research projects, as directed.
- Assist in the maintenance of KRP quality system, including but not limited to batch cards, QCAs, COAs and retains.
- Manage the upkeep of the laboratory (via 5S/Lean Six Sigma methodology)
- Recommend and initiate techniques to resolve problems and improve efficiency – continuous improvement.
- Modify existing nail or cosmetic base formulations to achieve desired product.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of laboratory SOPs and test methods.
- Assist in the training of new team members. Presentation of topics and field questions.
- Assist quality group in product quality investigations and troubleshooting.
- Support, develop and maintain laboratory tracking systems for raw materials, lab samples and finished goods.
- Perform additional duties/tasks as needed or requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Experience with cosmetic industry manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of equipment and validation requirements.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good mathematical skills – unit conversion, ratio, percentage.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Proficiency with MS Office - especially Excel.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with UV curable coatings, DLP 3D Devices or traditional denture chemicals and materials.
- Experience with compounding/formulating.
Education/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with 2 years’ laboratory experience
- Completed or Pursuing Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, etc.) desirable but not mandatory
