Position Title: Laboratory Technician/Technologist
Location: Eurofins Central Laboratory
Reports to: Supervisor Laboratory/ Manager Laboratory
Purpose of the job and expected outcome: To conduct precise analysis of specimens and operate equipment in strict accordance with study and client specifications. The role demands meticulous performance and documentation of both routine and non-routine analyses to deliver timely and accurate results. The technician is responsible for rigorous validation of results using technical and clinical rules in conjunction with supporting IT systems. The ultimate objective is to produce high-quality data that seamlessly integrates into the central database, facilitates accurate reporting to investigators and sponsors, and critically underpins the statistical analysis required for successful regulatory submissions.
Key Accountabilities:
The Laboratory Technician role is of paramount importance to the integrity of our operations. It demands an individual who comprehends the gravity of their responsibilities and is committed to upholding the highest standards of laboratory practice at all times.
The ideal candidate for this critical Laboratory Technician position must possess a minimum of three years of working or educational experience in a diagnostic or clinical laboratory setting, with demonstrable proficiency in modern automation techniques. This experience should include practical application during formal education.
Proficiency in the use of commercial grade or customized clinical Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is strongly preferred, as it is essential for maintaining the highest standards of data management and analysis.
Educational requirements are stringent, with a minimum of MBO Laboratory education level 4 being mandatory. This ensures that the successful applicant has the necessary theoretical knowledge to complement their practical skills.
The role demands an individual with exceptional organizational abilities, capable of setting and adhering to priorities while working with utmost accuracy under strict deadlines. A thorough understanding of and commitment to good laboratory and documentation practices is non-negotiable.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the capacity to multi-task effectively across various instrumentation platforms, as well as exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for effective collaboration within our team of professionals.
Given the nature of our work, the ability to work flexible hours is essential. This includes a willingness to work weekends on a rotation basis and during national holidays when required. The position involves performing moderate to high complexity testing, necessitating a keen eye for detail and a robust analytical mindset.
Problem-solving skills are paramount. The ideal candidate must be capable of identifying issues, determining root causes, and proposing effective solutions. They must also be adept at documenting deviations and communicating effectively with superiors when necessary.
A good command of the English language is required for clear and precise communication, both written and verbal.
The successful applicant must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to perform and behave in accordance with the agreements established in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), within the overarching quality framework of ISO, CAP, GCP, GCLP, and where applicable, any specific quality systems relevant to our operations.
