About the Role:
Reporting to the Chair, the Laboratory Supervisor supports teaching, learning, and research within the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies by coordinating and delivering high quality laboratory and field based activities. The position provides specialized technical expertise, ensures the safe and effective operation of laboratory and field environments, and manages equipment, spaces, and resources essential to academic programming and research. The Laboratory Supervisor works closely with faculty, instructors, and students, providing support with laboratory instruction and research, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contributing to recruitment, outreach, and departmental initiatives.
The Laboratory Supervisor will adhere to all applicable federal and provincial regulations governing the safe handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory chemicals, and will maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with institutional health and safety protocols
