Laboratory Supervisor

Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline.

Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role or a laboratory management role.

Nestlé Angola is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor who will:

• Lead the laboratory team to ensure chemical and sensory analytical services or specific services in raw/-pack/finished goods for the factory.
• Contribute to the implementation of the Nestlé Continuous Excellence in the pursuit of zero defect as the essential base for maintaining consumer trust and preference.

Your responsibilities

People and know-how:

• Lead and motivate the team in the achievement of their objectives.
• Contribute to the development of competence of quality professionals.
• Promote quality awareness and commitment to quality across the unit.

Quality System:

• Define and update the specific quality procedures, instructions and tools in the area of technical expertise.
• Contribute to define and follow-up on quality KPIs.
• Set operational objectives in collaboration with the Factory Quality Manager.

Quality mastership:

• Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect.
• Support activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards. instructions and standards.

Quality auditing and verification:

• Support unit readiness for internal and external audits.
• Performs trouble shooting and corrective action follow-up of non-conformities.

Food Safety Management

• Participate in HACCP and Food Safety teams.
• Ensure effective control of CCPs and OPRPs.
• Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Documentation and Compliance

• Ensure accurate, complete, and traceable quality records.
• Maintain document control and records management systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements.

What makes you successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a laboratory management or similar role.
• Demonstrated capability to lead a group of experienced professionals.
• Management exposure in a factory / market.
• Demonstrated analytical background or laboratory exposure.
• QA Specialist in a laboratory, PTC or R&D Centre, NRC, CO-QM.
• Different laboratory positions, environments (PTC, R&D, NRC, Mission, Special Projects.
• Preference of FMCG Experience.
• Excellent proficiency in English & Portuguese.
