In this dynamic role, you will lead and support key programs that uphold excellence in laboratory operations while mentoring future and current clinical laboratory professionals.
As the Laboratory Quality, Compliance/Education and Safety Specialist for UCLA West Valley Medical Center laboratory, your primary duties will include:
•Maintaining quality system essentials across multidisciplinary laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with licensing, accrediting, governmental, and credentialing agency requirements.
•Leading training sessions to promote compliance and quality excellence.
•Reviewing quality data, proficiency testing activities, and validation plans.
•Providing technical reviews for the laboratory and UCLA Health.
•Conducting assessments and audits.
•Developing and implementing new policies, processes, and procedures.
•Investigating nonconforming events to identify systemic issues.
•Analyzing data trends for risk management and process improvement.
•Assist with the CLS student program, continuing education and CLS career track programs, department staff orientation, and the safety program.
Salary Range: $119,700.00/year - $272,700.00/year
•Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating quality assurance, compliance, and educational activities within a clinical laboratory setting.
•Proven ability to manage deviations and implement effective corrective actions.
•Strong project planning and execution skills.
•Demonstrated experience in writing procedures, reports, and documentation for regulatory and operational use.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead training and educational programs.
•Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license and/or ASQ certification (CQA or CQM) preferred.
•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
