Location: Base Metal Refinery (BMR), Rustenburg

Number of positions: 4

The Laboratory Processor Grade 3 is an entry level employee who will be required to complete and be declared competent on specific modules within the training period. The incumbent will also execute Laboratory Processor tasks for which found competent during the training period.

Safety:

  • Consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities. Material usage to standard: adherence to standards required for chemicals, glassware, and equipment (e.g., MSDS, handling and use of glassware and equipment).

Performance and Delivery

  • Conform to work standards
  • Material usage: storage and stock control standards
  • Quality work performed
  • Time of work completion
  • Accuracy of work
  • Comply with Safety policies and procedures and ensure all safety equipment is working properly, e.g., personal equipment or built-in facilities such as exhaust ventilation systems that remove dust, lead fumes or harmful gases
  • Maintain Housekeeping Standards
  • Procedures followed
  • Instructions followed

People & Teams

  • Actively engage as a team member in all team processes.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.

Experience

  • 6 months to complete applicable laboratory modules.
  • Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role.
  • English literate
  • Risk management techniques and critical controls

Technical skills

  • Proficient skill in Computer literacy for role
  • Monitoring of benchmarks and identification of performance gaps
