Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Oncology, this position provides essential laboratory support for ongoing research projects. Responsibilities include performing in vivo and in vitro studies such as animal work, tissue culture, irradiation, flow cytometry, PCR, western blotting, and immunofluorescence microscopy. The role also involves preparing and submitting samples to core facilities, organizing and summarizing data for publications and grant proposals, and managing lab supplies, equipment maintenance, waste disposal, and overall laboratory safety. The incumbent may also supervise postdocs, lab assistants, and students as needed, contributing to a collaborative and productive research environment.

Salary: $6,519.43 - $10,490.81 monthly


Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in cell, molecular, and radiation biology.
  • Ability to supervise and train lab helper, students, and postdocs working in the labs.
  • Ability to summarize and prepare data for publication and grant applications.
  • Demonstrated skill in qRT-PCR, flow cytometry, and immunological and molecular biology assays.
  • Skill in handling mice, injection and irradiation of mice, organ harvest and blood draws.
  • Skill in using micropipettors, microscopes, centrifuges, CO2 incubators, waterbaths, spectrophotometer, pH meter, autoclaves, FACS, and hemavet.
  • Knowledge of lab safety procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous or chemical waste.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Prism, FlowJo.
  • A PhD Degree in the Life Sciences or Biochemistry.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of ImageScope and R.
