The opportunity
Our local product group Insulation & Components is the technology leader in design and manufacture of high volt-age transformer bushings. All renowned international companies of the electrical industry, active in power genera-tion, transmission and distribution are among our customers. We have a top position in the high voltage trans-former bushing areas worldwide.
In this highly responsible and dynamic role, you will lead our laboratory team at MICAFIL in Zürich-Altstetten (ZH) and ensure that we further strengthen our competitiveness and develop our Swiss branch to meet the global market growth in the field of energy. In this important role, you will continuously drive forward the efficient and innovative processes of our 3 different laboratories together with a strong team. How you’ll make an impact
Lead the laboratory team, including resource management and team development (15 FTE) and act as the point of contact for HV testing at Zürich-Altstetten MICAFIL
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards (IEC/IEEE)
Analyze & implement efficient production & business processes to increase safety, quality and productivity
Ensure high output through reliable high-voltage testing procedures (AC, DC, impulse, partial discharge)
Identify and integrate new technologies and best practices to drive the continuous improvement process (CIP) together with your team and our Process Engineering team
Collaborate closely with planning, quality assurance, logistics, other production departments and relevant stakeholders for holistic process design and improvement
Be responsible for optimal work and maintenance instructions and other relevant regulations (e.g. ISO, Lean, Six Sigma)
Develop and monitor the most important key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and re-port to operations manager
As People Manager, you will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines
Your background
Technical apprenticeship and qualifications (Bachelor / Master) in the field of Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Several years of experience in a similar leadership position (High-Voltage Testing/Insulation Technology/Power Engineering)
Solid knowledge in high-voltage systems, generators, and automation systems
Solid knowledge of lean management, Six Sigma and other process optimization methods
Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision making combined with a strong focus on safety
Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills
Fluent in German and English
