The role will lead and own delivery of the AI-enabled Marine Ground Digital Twin Platform RD&I project, which integrates geophysical, geotechnical in-situ and laboratory datasets into a unified digital analytics framework.

Lead the business-side planning, coordination and implementation of digital transformation initiatives across Fugro’s APAC geotechnical laboratory network.

The role will act as the key bridge between laboratory operations, IT, digital transformation, data, quality, programme management and technical stakeholders. The role will translate laboratory business needs into clear process requirements, digital workflows and implementation plans.

Key initiatives may include RFID-based sample tracking, FENIX LIMS implementation, LabPro integration, laboratory data workflows, digital dashboards, automation, AI-enabled laboratory analytics and other RD&I-related digital initiatives.

This is a 3-year fixed term contract for placement in Singapore, and only open to SG/PR candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business-side delivery of the AI-enabled Marine Ground Digital Twin Platform

  • Coordinate business requirements, delivery priorities, stakeholder input, adoption planning and implementation dependencies for the digital twin project.
  • Work with AI, data, IT, laboratory, quality and technical teams to ensure the platform reflects operational needs and can be embedded into laboratory and geotechnical workflows.

Lead laboratory digital transformation initiatives

  • Lead business-side delivery of RFID, FENIX LIMS, LabPro, dashboards, automation and AI-enabled laboratory workflows.
  • Coordinate implementation from requirements gathering through testing, rollout, adoption and post-go-live support.

Drive business process improvement and workflow harmonisation

  • Map current laboratory workflows and identify process gaps, inefficiencies and digitalisation opportunities.
  • Define future-state workflows and support harmonisation across APAC laboratories.

Translate laboratory needs into digital requirements

  • Gather user requirements from lab operations, data, quality, programme and technical teams.
  • Prepare functional specifications, user stories, workflow maps and acceptance criteria for IT / vendor implementation.

Coordinate stakeholders and vendors

  • Act as the bridge between laboratory users, IT, digital transformation, quality, data teams and external vendors.
  • Manage issue resolution, implementation dependencies and user feedback.

Support laboratory data governance and reporting

  • Define data standards, metadata requirements, naming conventions, traceability needs and dashboard requirements.
  • Support reporting for sample status, test progress, backlog, turnaround time, capacity and data quality.

Support RD&I and AI-readiness initiatives

  • Support digital and data workstreams for RD&I projects, including the Marine Ground Digital Twin platform.
  • Ensure laboratory workflows and data architecture are ready to support AI-enabled analytics and future digital services.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Process Management, or a related field
  • Additional certifications in project management, Lean Six Sigma, LIMS, digital transformation or change management is preferred.

Working experience: 5 to 10 years

  • 5+ years’ experience in business process transformation, system implementation or technology driven operational change.
  • Proven track record in managing IT and digitalisation projects in a laboratory, engineering, technical operations, manufacturing, logistics or asset heavy environment
  • Experience with LIMS, ERP, RFID, sample tracking, data acquisition systems, dashboards or workflow platforms would be an advantage.
  • Management experience 0-3 years, experience in leading cross-functional projects and coordinating stakeholders across operations, IT, quality, data and technical teams is preferred
  • Formal people management experience is not essential, but the candidate must be able to lead initiatives, influence users and drive adoption across multiple teams
  • License/ certification/ qualification Certification in PMP, Lean Six Sigma, business analysis, change management, data analytics, Power Platform or digital transformation would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills
  • Excellent project coordination, stakeholder engagement and change management abilities
  • Good understanding of laboratory operations, ISO 17025 compliance, geotechnical workflow or technical service environments would be a strong advantage
  • Ability to translate operational needs into clear digital requirements, user stories, workflow maps and implementation plans
  • Comfortable working across regional teams, vendors and technical specialists
