Laboratory Analyst – Chemical & Radiological Testing
Location: Dessel, Belgium
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Duration: 4 Months (Full-Time)
About the Role
We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to support laboratory operations through chemical, physical, and radiological testing. The successful candidate will perform sample collection and analysis, ensure accurate reporting of results, and contribute to maintaining high laboratory quality standards in a regulated technical environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional with strong analytical skills and experience working within accredited laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, register, analyse, interpret, and report laboratory samples within established timelines.
- Perform chemical, physico-chemical, chromatographic, and ICP spectrometry analyses.
- Conduct radiological analyses, including alpha, beta, and gamma activity measurements, radiochemical spectrometry, and liquid scintillation testing.
- Perform laboratory testing on concrete samples.
- Support laboratory quality assurance and accreditation activities.
- Participate in inter-laboratory comparison testing and validation exercises.
- Report non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues.
- Carry out calibration, maintenance checks, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Support the validation of analytical methods, techniques, and laboratory instruments.
- Prepare and update laboratory procedures and work instructions.
- Stay informed of new analytical methods and recommend process improvements.
- Assist regulatory inspectors during on-site sampling activities.
- Ensure all laboratory work complies with applicable national and international standards.
Required Experience
- Experience working in a chemical, analytical, environmental, or radiological laboratory.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory sampling and analytical testing.
- Knowledge of chromatographic techniques and ICP spectrometry.
- Experience with radiological analysis is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and accreditation processes.
- Experience with laboratory equipment calibration and method validation.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Work Arrangement
