Job Description

The Laboratory Key Account Manager is responsible for creating, driving, and securing long-term strategic partnerships with targeted IDEXX Veterinary Laboratory key accounts in Korea. This role owns overall account strategy, marketing collaboration, contract negotiation, and management of revenue and profitability.

The position requires a high level of collaboration with Korea sales team, including Regional Sales Managers (RSM’s), Inside Sales Representatives(ISR’s) and cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated value propositions, maximize customer success, and support sustainable business growth for IDEXX laboratory services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned laboratory key accounts to ensure long-term growth and partnership success

  • Build andmaintainstrong, trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations

  • Leadagreementnegotiations, including pricing, service scope, and commercial terms, ensuring alignment with IDEXX business objectives

  • Own revenue growth, profitability, and performance KPIs for assigned key accounts

  • Collaborate closely with RSMs and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and Services) to deliver coordinated and effective customer solutions

  • Identifycustomer needs and market opportunities to deliver tailored laboratory solutions and value-based proposals

  • Plan and manage projects related to key account initiatives, ensuringtimelyexecution and measurable outcomes

  • Deliver impactful presentations, business reviews, and strategic discussions atboth customer and internal company level

  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity, providing insights to support strategic decision-making

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Medical Technologist, Veterinary Technician, DVM, or VMD degree is a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • As someone internal to IDEXX, you have led projects internally on yourteam,you get along great with your team members, and others really look to you as an informal leader who drives results. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven success in large or key account management

  • Sales experience within the veterinary or animal health industry isrequired

  • Strong ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented sales environment

  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage customers at a senior level

  • Proven capability to conduct high-level, complex negotiations

  • Strong project planning and management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and sustain strategic partnerships

  • Intermediate or higher level of Englishproficiency(written and verbal)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Overnight travel
  • Some weekend work
  • Extensive car travel

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to veterinary clinics

Responsible Geography / Territory

  • Nationwide responsibility across Korea in collaboration with all three regional sales teams (North, Central, and South)

    Core focus on the Busan and South Team territory, while also managing selected strategic key accounts in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions

  • Identify potential customers by obtaining information, referrals, and recommendations from existing customers.

Key Account Management

  • Delivers specialized support and service, in alignment with organization's policies and procedures, for both new and existing accounts in a relevant area and responds to complex customer enquiries while helping senior colleagues manage and maintain customer relationships.

Customer Needs Clarification

  • Interview the customer, following a complex multilevel sales script, to clarify the customer's requirements, or assist in conducting interviews with potential customers, making detailed notes to collect client requirements.
