The Labor Market Specialist 1/2 plays a key role in preparing, collecting, and analyzing survey data for the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) program. This position reviews returned reports for accuracy, completeness, and content and analyzes returned data to assign appropriate occupational codes and evaluate wage data for accuracy. Some travel for training may be required.
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards, educational institutions, and industry partners, OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need, contributing to the state’s economic growth.
Six semester hours in economics with an additional six semester hours in economics, math, computer science, statistics, or marketing plus one of the following:
Three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, or statistical analysis; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
