Job Description

Work Modality: This position requires to work 3x times a week at office.

Position Purpose

Serve as the lead professional for labor consulting and litigation consulting, providing legal and strategic support to leadership, mitigating labor risks, leading labor relations matters, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, internal policies, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analyses and recommendations regarding legal, labor, and union-related risks to support leadership decision-making.

  • Support and/or lead union negotiations, collective bargaining discussions, and interactions with employee representatives, seeking sustainable business solutions.

  • Act proactively in the interpretation and application of labor legislation, collective agreements, internal policies, and corporate practices.

  • Coordinate strategies for the management of labor contingencies in partnership with internal stakeholders and external counsel, when applicable.

  • Guide investigations, sensitive case assessments, and action plans related to labor and employment matters.

  • Lead, develop, and direct the team under their responsibility, ensuring appropriate prioritization, technical quality, and alignment with area objectives.

  • Build strong partnerships with HR, leadership, and other corporate functions to anticipate risks and develop integrated solutions.

  • Support compliance, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives related to the labor and union relations agenda.

  • Provide support for union negotiations across all GM plants in Brazil, while advising leaders and partner areas on labor and employment law, union relations, and the management of labor conflicts.

  • Manage the labor litigation team, supporting the supervisor of the Labor and Employment Litigation team within GMB’s Legal Department, with a focus on procedural strategy, monitoring of relevant cases, review of case assessments, interface with outside counsel, and quality control of defenses and calculations.

  • Supervise and guide outside counsel, promoting efficiency, technical consistency, and proper management of legal budget and service providers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws degree and OAB active.

  • Solid experience in labor and employment law and union relations.

  • Experience advising leaders and operating in a consultative role within a corporate environment.

  • Experience with collective bargaining, conflict management, and labor risk assessment.

  • Experience leading teams and coordinating demands with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor legislation and compliance practices applicable to the corporate environment.

  • Mandatory English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
