Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a full docket of workplace-related litigation from the first day, covering hearings, trials and agency proceedings. The role also involves advising clients on compliance and working closely with partners and senior attorneys across two offices.
What you'll do
- Independently manage a full employment litigation caseload.
- Take depositions, try cases and handle arbitrations and administrative proceedings before regulatory bodies.
- Represent both employers and claimants in disputes involving discrimination, harassment and wage claims, including class actions, in state and federal courts.
- Advise public and private clients on federal and state employment law compliance.
- Prepare and argue motions, answer agency charges and oversee discovery.
- Work alongside partners and senior counsel on high-profile matters.
- Be available for periodic out-of-office work tied to case events and client meetings around the state.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 6+ years of hands-on labor and employment litigation experience, including depositions, trials and arbitrations.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently without supervision.
- Experience with wage/hour class actions, discrimination and harassment claims, and EEOC/DFEH proceedings.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active California Bar membership.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
- Skill in drafting and arguing motions, with strong written advocacy and a writing sample.
- Ability to contribute immediately.
- Willingness to work in the office three days a week, including Wednesdays, and to travel for depositions and trials.

Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 200,000 to 270,000 per year
- Discretionary year-end bonus

- Oakland, CA or San Diego, CA, United States (candidate chooses office)
- Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
