ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a full-time, permanent team member to support our Quality Team.

The Label and Inventory Coordinator plays a key support role in nursery production, despatch, and retail operations by ensuring the accurate storage, retrieval, and distribution of plant labels. This position is essential to maintaining inventory accuracy, timely order fulfilment, and reliable data integrity across label systems.

The work can be busy at times, particularly during peak planting and retail seasons, so the ability to stay organised, follow processes and communicate clearly is essential.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Daily organisation, filing, retrieval, and storage of plant labels.
  • Monitoring stock levels using Plant Tracker and raising reorders when required.
  • Completing regular stock audits and annual stocktakes.
  • Processing incoming label deliveries and updating inventory systems.
  • Maintaining efficient and organised storage systems.
  • Interpreting block reports and picking labels for daily orders.
  • Fulfilling export, Trademart, Bunnings, and vendor label requirements.
  • Preparing labels for retail presentation and merchandising standards.
  • Maintaining label databases, digital records, and filing systems.
  • Using Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Plant Tracker, and barcode scanners for tracking and reporting.
  • Removing discontinued stock and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Producing basic signage and documentation using word processing tools.
  • Responding to internal enquiries regarding label orders and availability.
  • Supporting production and despatch teams with timely information.
  • Operating barcode equipment and related systems.
  • Assisting with general nursery hand duties across departments as required.

ABOUT YOU

You do not need to know everything about plant labels on day one – training will be provided. What is important is that you are reliable, organised and have knowledge of botanical nomenclature.

You will be well suited to this role if you:

  • Have good knowledge of plant identification and botanical nomenclature.
  • Can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Competence using computers, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced operational environment.

Knowledge of plant labelling systems, plant intellectual property (PBR/PVR/trademarks), plus an understanding of PMA labelling standards and toxic plant information is an advantage, but not essential.
