Cleveland Clinic’s Cytopathology Laboratory evaluates a large volume of gynecologic (65,000) and non-gynecologic (20,000) specimens in a widerangeof disease categories.As a Lab Technician II,you will be responsible for processing routine and stat laboratory tests as well as performing specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems. This is a very hands-on team and a great place to get your foot in the door. This role can not only lead to growth within the lab but also the ability to move into other roles.
A caregiver in this position worksevenings from 1:00PM – 9:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive andaccessionlaboratory specimens into the LIS.
Retrieve, sort,trackand deliver specimens.
Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Verifyaccuratedocumentationrelativeto specimen processing.
Maintain patient,specimenand tracking data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.
Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge,aliquotingand routine maintenance).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
HighSchoolDiploma or GED
One year oflabexperience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate'sDegree inScience(will substitute the required experience)
