Job Description

The Department of Biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for a part-time position of Lab Technician, beginning September 2026. The position is funded by an NIH grant. The project will study thyroid hormone signaling and lead exposure in the developing brain using Xenopus laevis as a model system. The hourly rate for this position is $22.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field. Prior lab experience is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • Comfort working independently is very important
  • Prior lab experience preferred but not required

Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
