
This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of Southaven, Mississippi for on-site expectations
Provides technical leadership in the design, implementation and evolution of clinical reference laboratory systems such as Laboratory Information Systems, Quality Management Systems, middleware, and integration with lab automation and lab analyzers, and external, third-party systems. Works in partnership with technical architects to ensure that IT solutions are complete, integrated, and in alignment with Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ (MCL) strategy and technology roadmap. Monitors industry features and standards to provide input to both IT and MCL strategy. Analyzes MCL’s overall enterprise architecture and compares it against industry standards and trends to proactively identify opportunities for new and better solutions in Information Technology.
Understands and documents core business processes and translates them into data flows between and outside of IT systems, within Mayo Clinic Laboratories, and to outside entities, including MCL clients and third-party service providers. Fosters and creates partnerships with the clinical and business area to develop a solid knowledge base of the business area. Understands business strategy and designs the target business architecture based on industry standards.
Provides leadership in developing new system requirements and researching, evaluating, and selecting vendor solutions. Analyzes fit of potential application solutions within the architecture; leads discussion on readiness for implementation in Mayo Clinic’s environment. Obtains and communicates information pertinent to the selection of the appropriate mix of projects and programs to support business objectives.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems and certification in the vended application. Able to design, develop or modify programs, algorithms or rules using vendor command language or similar technology tools. May serve as a liaison for industry partnerships or as a Mayo Clinic representative in national industry events.

This role partners with stakeholders throughout the organization to analyze business needs, improve processes, implement technology solutions, and support enterprise architecture and application management efforts.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver, effective communicator, and experienced project leader with the ability to manage large-scale initiatives, drive consensus, and deliver innovative solutions that align with organizational strategy.

This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. As the organization matures, the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship/we will not transfer or sponsor a visa for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F1 STEM OPT extension program.
Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience
OR Bachelor Degree with 8 years’ experience
OR Associates Degree with 10 years' experience.
Experience to include demonstration of the following areas: operations analysis, information systems implementation, system architecture, and systems analysis.
Vendor application certification may be required
