Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Laboratory Setting, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Through Unity Lab Services, we provide integrated lab services, support, and supply management tailored to our customers’ needs. As a Lead Laboratory Services Specialist, you will serve as the site-level lead across all service functions, ensuring seamless operations, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

This roleis responsible forboth executing day-to-day service tasks and providing oversight across all service areas, while supporting team performance, managing escalations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

A day in the Life:

  • Perform lab concierge operations, including equipment upkeep, scheduling with pre-work preparation, routine lab walkthroughs,andvendor escort coordination

  • Executemonthlyequipment inventory and disposition within lab space through end of lifecycle

  • Handlesa variety oflogistic and lab supportservices, acting as the site’s lab consumables gatekeeperon non-POU items Manage Outlook mailbox triage and communicate upcoming maintenance and repair activities to customers.

  • Partner with clients to understand and support their equipment, labware, and material needs.Collaborate withfield service engineers, salerepresentativesand other partner to resolve questions

  • Lead site-level projects, define action plans, and drivetimelycompletion.

  • Develop andmaintainwork instructions and job aids for services and operational scopes.Adhere toestablishedBest Practices, SOPs, and Work Instructions.

  • Maintainaccurateservice records, meet contractual obligations, and support tracking of business metrics.

  • Performadditionalduties as assigned by management.

Keys to Success:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

2+yearsexperiencein customer-facing.

Good x Practice (GxP) environment or laboratory setting experiencerequired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Self-starter who worksindependently,supports team efforts, and can act asbackupfor supervisory tasks.

  • Experienced in training peers, serving as a subject-matter resource, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiar with operational metrics and performance tracking, with strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Effective communicator, adaptable to operational changes, and focused on quality, efficiency, and problem-solving.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is oftenrequired The position requires regular lifting of 30-40lbs(up to 50lbsoccasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments. Overtime work may also be necessary.

Compensation

The estimated annualized pay range for this position in British Columbia is $44,300.00–$66,425.00.
