Summary:
- Register patients/specimens appropriately in the hospital information system with required information.
- Process and receive specimens into the laboratory and assist phlebotomists with managing patient collections.
- Manage the front desk area and perform various clerical duties in the laboratory.
- In the absence of the pathology assistant, function to process pathology specimens and reports as needed.
- Collect chain of custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests.
- Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Experience:
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical/hospital experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, remain calm under stress, and communicate effectively. Basic computer skills required.
