Job Description


The Lab Chemist I is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses in support of quality control, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role works with a variety of chemical substances, laboratory instruments, and testing methods while maintaining strict adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Perform basic analysis of samples while following all Health & Safety, operational, and compliance standards
  • Complete all laboratory paperwork and digital documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including calibration and run logs
  • Calibrate, maintain, and operate analytical laboratory equipment in accordance with the chemical hygiene plan
  • Properly manage and dispose of waste generated from laboratory analysis processes
  • Review and maintain understanding of laboratory SOPs and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment while communicating inventory needs
  • Support additional laboratory duties and projects as assigned based on business needs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field preferred
  • 0–3 years of laboratory or related experience
  • Laboratory experience preferred
  • OSHA 24- or 40-hour training preferred
  • DOT training preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and chemical testing procedures
  • Computer proficiency and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in a physically active laboratory environment
