Position Summary:

Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Laboratory Associate to join our dynamic FFPE team. The Laboratory Associate - Slide Imaging, FFPE plays a critical role in supporting Discovery Life Sciences' FFPE Biorepository by preparing, managing, and quality-controlling digital pathology samples through Whole Slide Imaging platforms. This position combines laboratory operations, data management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the accurate handling, imaging, and organization of samples that support global research, diagnostic development, and patient care initiatives

A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Associate FFPE at Discovery Life Sciences:

• Review and quality check digital slide images.
• Create and manage cases in imaging platforms.
• Organize, file, and track FFPE tissue samples.
• Maintain accurate records and Excel reports.
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory teams to support client projects.

Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

• Previous Histology or Pathology background preferred
• Ability to handle high stress situations with ease while maintaining a positive and productive attitude
• Experience in life sciences
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational stills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience using salesforce
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Eagerness to learn
• Willingness to be a great teammate

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the quality of all services, data and information being sent to customer and pathologists
• Ensure that all HIPPA requirements are followed
• Pseudonymization of samples
• Key attention to detail while handling samples
• Creation and management of cases and review batches in image viewing platform
• Filing inventory samples in alphanumerical order
• Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards within the FFPE Department
• Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory services, IT, and/ or project managers to identify, prevent and resolve problems
• Collaborate with company departments, clients, and vendors through email and video meetings in a professional manner
• Edit, create, and manage excel spreadsheets and generated system reports
• Daily monitoring of scanned images in the Discovery Life Sciences imaging platform
• Assisting with client requested image uploads (could include working in different imaging platforms not routinely utilized through Discovery Life Sciences)
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the company and its operations
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
• Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
