Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately mid October 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory of chemicals in the lab by summarizing chemicals on hand, link the appropriate MSDS sheet to entry in an google drive spreadsheet.

Determine chemical class (e.g. general, flammable, oxidizer, reactant) for chemicals and organize storage in compatible categories.

General lab cleaning, wash and store glassware.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a BS in Marine Biology, Botany, or equivalent.

Must have a general knowledge of chemicals and biosafety handling procedures.

Must have at least 1 year of diverse research experiences in the field and / or in a lab setting.

Must be able to assess accuracy of herbarium specimen identification.

Must be available at least 5 hrs/ wk.

Desirable Qualifications

Assisted with on-going Eucheuma studies in Kaneohe Bay.

Recent Biosafety training or willingness to update your training.

Experience presenting your own research in a scientific talk.

Assist with lab housekeeping needs as determined.
