Primary Duties and Responsibilities


The Department of Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory operations through the accurate processing and biobanking of research specimens, data entry and maintenance of laboratory databases, and organization of sample procurement records and logs. Working under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and the efficient management of laboratory resources while contributing to the department's research mission.

Hourly range: $27.04-$32.31


Job Qualifications


Required:
  • Excellent skills in isolation of functionally active pancreatic acinar cells
  • Excellent skills in cerulein model of pancreatitis and tissue collection
  • Excellent skills in ELISA and spectrofluorometer and spectrophotometer operations
  • Excellent skills in biochemistry and molecular biology procedures including immunoblot, mRNA isolations, and real time PCR procedures
  • Excellent skills in breeding colonies and mice genotyping
  • Excellent skills in immunohistology procedure and microscope operation
  • Excellent skills in computer and software operations
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
