
Mater Research are looking for a Lab and Operations Officer to join the team! This is a permanent role in a full-time capacity. It will be based across our South Brisbane campus and Translational Research Institute (Woolloongabba) sites.

Salary range: $43.78 - $47.18 (MRI Admin L6) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
The Lab and Operations Officer provides skilled operational and administrative support across Mater Research's laboratory and office environments at the Aubigny Place and Translational Research Institute (TRI) campuses.
The position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day laboratory and facilities operations, maintaining operational records and systems, supporting laboratory users, coordinating routine maintenance and service requests, and contributing to the implementation of laboratory safety and operational processes.
The position works collaboratively with the Lab and Safety Manager, Mater Research staff, researchers, students, partner organisations, facilities teams and external service providers to ensure laboratory and shared spaces are safe, functional, appropriately maintained and fit for purpose.
The position operates with a high degree of autonomy in coordinating routine operational activities and is expected to exercise sound judgement in prioritising work, resolving routine operational issues and coordinating multiple stakeholders within established policies, procedures and delegated responsibilities.
