Bloomberg News, one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world, is looking to hire an experienced writer and reporter to join our expanding Ukraine team.

Based in Kyiv, you’ll help to produce agenda-setting stories on President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s efforts to repel Russia’s invasion and the economic impact of the war on Ukraine and the wider region. You’ll cover Zelenskiy’s evolving battlefield strategy, the diplomatic push to maintain support of allies and the industrial economy that keeps the country's defenses running, framing the Ukraine story for a professional global audience.

Your experience writing the big stories will mean that you can put events in Ukraine into their geopolitical context and zoom in to focus on the details that will bring our coverage to life. At the center of a conflict that resonates far beyond Ukraine's borders, you'll be expected to go deep with analysis and features while working closely with the bureau. Bringing impeccable news judgement to everything from breaking stories to scoops and enterprise, the ideal candidate will be someone who is ready to develop their craft as a journalist at Bloomberg and take on additional responsibility over time.

• Collaborate with colleagues across the world

You'll need to have:

• A track record in political, economic or business journalism
• Experience working in Ukraine at a real-time news organization
• Native-level English and working-proficiency in Ukrainian
