Your Everyday at Nexi
As a KYC/AML Specialist (POS), you’ll join the Customer Risk Assessment Department at PayPro S.A., a Nexi Group company, in Poznań. Our team verifies new card acquiring merchants before their contracts go live and is the first line of defence against money laundering in merchant onboarding.
About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:
- Carry out KYC/AML verification of new POS merchants in line with the Polish Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act and internal procedures, as the final step before contract activation.
- Verify company registry data (KRS, CEIDG) and assess whether the merchant’s data is complete and consistent.
- Identify representatives and beneficial owners, establish ownership structures and check them against the Central Register of Beneficial Owners (CRBR), including handling discrepancies.
- Screen merchants and related persons against sanctions lists, PEP lists, the KNF public warnings list and card scheme databases (Mastercard MATCH, Visa VMSS), and analyse potential matches.
- Verify merchant outlets and assign MCC codes in line with Visa and Mastercard rules.
- Review identity verification results, including remote video verification, and validate identity document data.
- Assess the merchant’s financial credibility and, where needed, refer the case to the Collections team.
- Determine the merchant’s risk level, document your analysis and decide whether the contract is activated, rejected or escalated.
- Clarify discrepancies with account managers and cooperate with the Compliance and Card Scheme teams.
- Take part in merchant portfolio migrations and process improvement projects.
- Follow changes in AML regulations, KNF guidance and card scheme rules that affect merchant onboarding.
- Represent the team at internal and external meetings.
What We Value in You

Essential Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in KYC/AML, compliance or customer due diligence, preferably at a payment institution, bank or other obligated institution
- Good knowledge of the Polish AML/CFT Act and of national and international KYC/AML regulations
- Ability to analyse company registry data and ownership structures
- Higher education, preferably in Economics, Finance and Banking, Law, Administration, Management or a related field
- English language: B2 level
- Good command of MS Office, especially Excel
- Accuracy, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to make decisions and document them clearly
- Ability to acquire new knowledge quickly and share it with the team
- Bonus Skills:
- Experience in card acquiring or payment services, including knowledge of Visa and Mastercard rules, MCC codes and MATCH/VMSS
- AML/KYC courses or certificates
- Familiarity with the new EU AML package (AMLR)
- Experience in project work
