The Consumer Business AML KYC Analyst is an intermediate-level position, responsible for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction monitoring and KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve client profile reviews completed by Makers, ensuring all customer information, supporting documentation, and KYC records comply with applicable local regulations, Citi policies, and KYC standards before case closure.
- Perform quality oversight of transaction monitoring activities, review MIS outputs for accuracy and completeness, and contribute to quality governance discussions to drive consistent application of standards.
- Validate and challenge the implementation of technology enhancements, policy updates, and regulatory changes by reviewing gap analyses, impact assessments, and stakeholder communications to ensure effective execution.
- Review and provide oversight on process automation initiatives and the implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring adherence to governance requirements and operational readiness.
- Conduct independent post-execution quality reviews, data profiling assessments, remediation validations, and control effectiveness reviews to identify risks, ensure compliance, and drive sustainable corrective actions.
- Review capacity planning metrics, time-and-motion study outputs, and resource utilization analyses to ensure appropriate workload management and operational efficiency.
- Review and approve procedural documentation and updates, ensuring alignment with current regulatory requirements, Citi policies, and operational best practices.
- Validate and approve daily operational MIS and monthly management reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, data integrity, and timely delivery to stakeholders.
- Identify quality, control, and process gaps through ongoing reviews and provide recommendations to enhance productivity, strengthen controls, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to Makers and stakeholders on KYC requirements, quality expectations, and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure adherence to Citi's risk and control framework by appropriately escalating issues, validating corrective actions, maintaining strong compliance standards, and promoting accountability across the team.
- Exercise independent judgment when reviewing complex cases, ensuring risks are appropriately assessed, documented, and escalated in accordance with Citi policies and regulatory requirements.
Role Qualifications:
- Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to interact and facilitate across diverse audiences, including Senior Management
- Ability to support and obtain buy-in from others and lead by example of high performance.
- Relevant experience with similar responsibilities in a high volume, fast-paced environment and industry systems and platforms
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic project participation experience
Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience with contributing to a collaborative environment through knowledge sharing and mutual respect.
- Business experience in the Consumer and Commercial Banking industry and experience within a medium/large financial organization, including knowledge of banking products and different types of transactions and client-facing procedures.
- Relevant work experience and understanding of global and local AML KYC regulations, associated risks of non-compliance and changing dynamics, and knowledge of KYC processes throughout the client life cycle.
- Understanding of the inter-dependencies of roles within KYC process and requirements for KYC Record successful completion across relevant client types.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, AML transaction/risk monitoring tools, and solving AML related issues.
Skills:
- Proficient Microsoft Office user (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to perform moderately complex queries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree. AML-KYC related certification would be an advantage.
