Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for KSDE TASN Project Co-Project Staff Coordinator. The primary function of the KSDE TASN Project Co-Project staff is to implement and support the statewide technical assistance and professional learning on behalf of the Kansas State Department of Education Special Education and Title Services (SETS) Team through the Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) contract for coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities of Position

Facilitate events 35%

  • Direct large scale events including rooms, audio/video and banquet services.
  • Provide facilitation and production support for online events to KSDE SETS team and TASN contracts.

System wide support 20%

  • Investigate, evaluate, select and support the system wide implementation of tools to provide effective online meetings, professional learning and events.
  • Support the implementation of the technical assistance and professional learning network/system funded by KSDE SETS to provide statewide support to local education agencies promoting evidence-based practices early childhood through age 21 for students with disabilities ensuring a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
  • Monitor information from requests, due process, compliance and research to identify emerging needs and priorities which the KSDE SETS may need to address or support.
  • Provide regular leadership to approximately 14 contracts issued by KSDE SETS under TASN initiative to ensure alignment with plan of operation and alignment with KSDE SETS priorities and emerging needs.

Training 15%

  • Develop and deliver training both in person and online covering IDEA legal and evidence-based practices aligned with KSDE goals and priorities.
  • Develop and deliver community of practices covering topics in IDEA and ESEA.

Policy writing and guidance 15%

  • Collaborates, advises and writes guidance and policy documents with and/or on behalf and at the direction of KSDE SETS Team.

Contract negotiation 10%

  • Independently research, select and negotiate contracts with venues for events (events ranging from 20 to 1,300 attendees) and with national presenters held on behalf of KSDE SETS and the TASN contracts.

Education and Experience

Required Education and Experience at Hire

  • High school diploma.
  • 5 years’ experience working in one of the areas of education, psychology, speech-language pathology, instructional design or related field.

Preferred Education and Experience at Hire

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning in the areas of education, psychology, speech-language pathology, instructional design or related field.

  • Experience in designing and providing professional learning.

  • Experience in executing large scale professional learning events.

  • Experience in providing professional learning and coaching in-person and online.

Job Type: Unclassified, Temporary, Renewable Annually

Appointment Duration: 12 months

Work Schedule: Full Time – Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm., nights as needed. This is a remote position.
