Overview

A loving family of three in Sarasota, Florida, seeks an experienced, hardworking, meticulous Executive Housekeeper to join their household team. The property includes two adjacent residences and a dedicated laundry facility. This position focuses on exceptional laundry and fine garment care, comprehensive wardrobe maintenance, and keeping the home immaculate, organized, and beautifully maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in luxury private residences, with expertise in caring for designer clothing, delicate fabrics, luxury footwear, handbags, accessories, fine furnishings, and antiques. The household employs a professional cleaning team twice weekly and a dedicated nanny for the family’s young daughter. The Executive Housekeeper will work collaboratively with existing staff, own daily household standards, and assist with additional cleaning and household needs as required. A typical day includes morning housekeeping, tidying, and wardrobe organization in the main residence, followed by laundry and garment care in the adjacent residence. The family is seeking a proactive, efficient professional with a quiet, warm, and friendly demeanor who understands the importance of discretion, teamwork, and working unobtrusively around the principals. A strong work ethic and a genuine “no job too big or too small” attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

Laundry, Fine Garment & Wardrobe Care

• Take full responsibility for the household’s laundry, maintaining immaculate standards and an efficient turnaround.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of luxury garment care, delicate fabrics, designer clothing, and appropriate laundering techniques.
• Possess exceptional ironing, steaming, pressing, and garment-finishing skills.
• Provide comprehensive care for the family’s entire wardrobe, including clothing, shoes, handbags, leather goods, and accessories.
• Properly clean, polish, condition, maintain, and store luxury footwear and accessories using appropriate techniques.
• Maintain beautifully organized closets, drawers, and wardrobe spaces, ensuring garments and belongings are promptly returned to their designated locations.
• Assist with seasonal wardrobe organization and coordinate specialized cleaning, repairs, or restoration when necessary.
• Care for fine household linens, bedding, towels, and other textiles.
• Maintain the dedicated laundry facility to impeccable standards.

Housekeeping, Organization & Estate Care

• Maintain both residences to consistently immaculate standards through daily housekeeping, tidying, organization, and detailed cleaning as needed.
• Ensure bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas remain pristine, orderly, and welcoming.
• Demonstrate experience caring for antiques, fine furnishings, artwork, natural stone, delicate surfaces, and luxury finishes.
• Handle valuable household possessions with exceptional care and attention.
• Maintain organized closets, cabinetry, storage spaces, and household supplies.
• Proactively identify and address cleaning and organizational needs without constant direction.
• Collaborate with the existing cleaning team and assist with deep cleaning, seasonal projects, and other household tasks as needed.

Household Support & Teamwork

• Assist the chef with kitchen linens, dishwashing, and general kitchen support as needed.
• Work cooperatively with the nanny, chef, cleaning team, and household management.
• Communicate household needs, maintenance concerns, and supply shortages promptly to management.
• Remain flexible and willing to assist colleagues and take on additional responsibilities when required.
• Contribute to a calm, organized, and smoothly functioning household.

Discretion & Principal Awareness

• Demonstrate excellent situational awareness and the ability to “read the room,” anticipating the principals’ needs and preferences.
• Work quietly and unobtrusively around the family, adjusting tasks to respect their routines, conversations, and personal space.
• Exercise sound judgment in knowing when to engage, when to step back, and when to complete tasks at a more appropriate time.
• Maintain professional boundaries, strict confidentiality, and respect for the family’s privacy at all times.

Requirements

• Must be legal to work in the US
• Proven housekeeping experience in luxury private residences or high-end estates
• Exceptional expertise in laundry, fine garment care, ironing, steaming, and luxury wardrobe management.
• Experience caring for fine footwear, handbags, leather goods, and accessories.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning and preservation techniques for antiques, fine furnishings, and delicate household materials.
• Highly organized, meticulous, efficient, and attentive to detail.
• Exceptionally hardworking, dependable, proactive, and self-motivated, with a “no job too big or too small” mentality.
• Quiet, calm, warm, and friendly demeanor with a naturally discreet and unobtrusive presence.
