Job Description

An experienced Night Housekeeper is sought to join a fully staffed private household in Atherton. This position will work alongside the current night housekeeper for part of the week while also independently managing overnight housekeeping responsibilities. Candidates with experience in luxury hotels or five-star hospitality environments are especially well suited to this role. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining impeccable standards without requiring supervision. Schedule:

• Full-time, live-out position
• Typical shift: 10:00 pm6:00 am or 11:00 pm–7:00 am
• Approximately three shifts working alongside another night housekeeper and two shifts working independently

Property:

• Primary residence in Atherton
• Approximately 15,000 square feet
• Six bedrooms and nine-and-a-half bathrooms
• Multiple living areas, gym, theater, main kitchen, and chef's kitchen
• Occasional work at a nearby Portola Valley residence and rare trips to Sonoma

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed overnight cleaning throughout the residence
• Maintain exceptional presentation of all living spaces
• Care for luxury finishes, fixtures, and furnishings
• Prepare the home for the following day
• Complete deep-cleaning projects on a rotating schedule
• Organize household spaces and maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness
• Work quietly and efficiently while the household is occupied
• Independently identify tasks that need attention without direction
• Collaborate with the daytime housekeeping team to ensure seamless coverage

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-end hospitality preferred
• Previous experience in a luxury private residence is welcome but not required
• Excellent English communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and in silence
• Highly organized with strong initiative

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality
• Team player who works well within a fully staffed household
