The Monad Foundation is a team of dedicated ecosystem and community builders who are on a mission to massively grow the impact of decentralized tech. We believe that the Monad blockchain--the performant and parallel EVM Layer 1--will help decentralized apps eat the world.
The Monad Foundation is looking for a Korea Lead to establish Monad as the leading blockchain in South Korea by institutional and retail adoption. South Korea is one of the most dynamic and active blockchain markets globally, with a highly engaged investor community.
You’ll own the overall strategy for the South Korean market, driving business development, strategic relationships and ecosystem growth. You will serve as Monad Foundation’s key representative to major Korean enterprises and institutions, covering use cases such as payments, tokenization/RWA, and capital markets.
Develop and execute market strategies to establish Monad as an industry leader in the South Korean market among institutional and retail investors.
Lead business development efforts by identifying, negotiating and closing strategic deals that drive capital inflows and user adoption.
Build and nurture relationships with key ecosystem players including VCs, exchanges, media and developer communities to expand Monad’s presence and mindshare.
Stay on top of the evolving South Korean regulatory landscape and trends to identify high-impact opportunities to position Monad as an industry leader and first-mover.
Facilitate the entry of global ecosystem startups into the South Korean market by providing strategic guidance, local insights and connections.
5+ years of business development experience, including 3+ years in blockchain, digital assets, or Web3 startups.
Deep understanding of the South Korean market and proven ability to engage retail and institutional investors.
Established network across local Web3 startups, institutions, and enterprises.
Self-starter who takes ownership of initiatives from ideation to execution.
Native-level fluency in both Korean and English (written and verbal).
Existing relationships with South Korean financial institutions that are exploring or actively involved in Web3 initiatives.
Entrepreneurial experience across the full startup lifecycle, including fundraising, product launches and operations.
Deep technical understanding of blockchains.
The role is based in South Korea.
Challenging problems. You’ll work on extremely challenging problems with massive impact.
Huge opportunity. The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) standard is ubiquitous, but existing EVM-compatible chains are slow and bandwidth-constrained. Monad’s core innovations offer developers the best of both worlds (portability and performance) and are a game-changer for mass user adoption in crypto.
The right team. You’ll be part of an exceptional and highly-motivated team
Culture We’re a lean team working together to achieve very ambitious goals. We are united in our culture of collaboration, low ego, and high-quality output. As an early member of our team, you’ll help continue to shape our culture.
Benefits for full-time employees may include medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% coverage for employees); generous paid time off; paid parental leave; and 10 company-observed holidays.

Category Labs (formerly known as Monad Labs) is a team of systems engineers and researchers on a mission to design and build at the frontier of decentralized technology. We strive to design and build step-function improvements over existing blockchain solutions. Such greenfield systems include from-scratch databases, Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus mechanisms, JIT compilers for EVM bytecode, and much more.
We recently raised $225M in series A funding, and are backed by Paradigm, Electric Capital, Dragonfly Capital, and others.
Category Labs is building the next generation of blockchain infrastructure with Monad, an EVM-compatible layer 1 that dramatically improves performance. Deep optimization is needed across all levels of the stack - from the database layer, to the virtual machine layer, to the consensus and networking layer - in order to streamline EVM transaction processing. We are introducing these low-level optimizations, allowing consumer-grade hardware to deliver exceptional performance while maintaining a high degree of decentralization.
