The Role
Applied Materials is growing at a pace that is driving significant increases in headcount and facilities. As a result, we expect over the next five years to have the most exciting and active project pipeline in our history. In addition to enabling this growth, Applied Materials is investing significantly in labs to augment the R&D capability in Korea
The Global Workplace and Infrastructure (GWI) team is responsible for all facilities, from acquisition through operation to disposition. The Labs are mission critical to our success and they operate 24x7 365 days a year. As a member of the GWI team, this position will play an exciting and important role in our success.
The Korea Lab Facilities Engineer will be an SME in one or more of - Electrical, Mechanical, Gas & Chemical Engineering with hands-on experience in Semiconductor manufacturing either a Fab or AT site.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Infrastructure Management: Be part of the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical infrastructure to support semiconductor processing in the Lab.
Plan: Support the GWI Head of Korea in Planning the Roadmap for the lab – this includes:
Build:Assist the GWI Head of Korea in Building to the Plan – this includes:
Run:Support the GWI Head of Korea torun the lab 24x7 365 days a year with 100% uptime, high availability and reliability, zero down time and interrupts.
The role requires partnering with cross-functional teams and Senior business leaders to solve business situations through creative, right solutions, at the right cost. This will range from business (GWI) process re-engineering, building team skills and mature supply chain and vendor programs.
The Lab Facilities Engineer is expected to be willing to travel up to 10% and virtually participate in meetings spread across all global time zones.
