Job Description

A warm and welcoming family of five on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, full-time Private Chef to join their household. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing healthy, organic meals, enjoys working in a family environment, and is comfortable around children. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who takes pride in creating delicious, clean cuisine while maintaining an organized and well-run kitchen.Schedule

• Monday through Friday- with advance notice on weekly scheduling
• Typically includes: some weeks will have less hours and others will be the full-time schedule
  • 3 later evenings per week
  • 2 early mornings per week
  • Friday evening dinner is always required
• Flexibility is essential, as hours may vary based on the family's schedule.
• Occasional travel to the Hamptons is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare fresh, healthy, organic, and flavorful meals for the family.
• Create child-friendly versions of family meals for three school-aged children.
• Prepare snacks and make-ahead meals for weekend reheating.
• Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including:
  • Grocery shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients
  • Pantry and refrigerator organization and stocking
  • Kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Cleanup after meal preparation and service
• Maintain an efficient, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the family's full-time housekeeper and contribute as a team player.
• Engage with the children when needed in a supportive, flexible manner.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Warm, personable, and easy to have around.
• Child-friendly with a positive, flexible attitude.
• Willingness to travel to the Hamptons as needed.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and professionalism.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a private chef in a family residence
• Strong knowledge of healthy, organic, and clean cooking.
• Experience working in a Kosher kitchen
• Comfortable preparing meals for both adults and children.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule
• Willing to go to the Hamptons a few times a summer

Salary and Benefits

• Family is offering a yearly salary for this flexible schedule of $150-$180 k plus not there is no health benefits included here
