With an almost unrivalled heritage of engineering and racing F1 cars and unforgettable eras that demonstrate it is a force to be reckoned with, the British squad boasts 16 F1 World Championship titles to its name.

Since its foundation in 1977 by the eminent, late Sir Frank Williams and engineering pioneer Sir Patrick Head, the team has won nine Constructors’ Championships, in association with Cosworth, Honda and Renault. Its roll call of drivers is legendary, with its seven Drivers’ Championship trophies being lifted by true icons of the sport: Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. The team has made history before and is out to make it again with a long-term mission to evolve and return to the front of the grid.

Job Description

Keep the build moving

Every car part that reaches a build bay has to be there at the right time, in the right order, complete. When it isn't, production stops. This role is the person who makes sure that doesn't happen.

You'll sit between Operations Planning, the warehouse and the production leads, controlling the flow of inventory through your assigned department. Chassis, suspension, front and rear wings - when a big project is on, you're the one making sure the parts and tooling land when the build plan says they should. It's a role with a visible result: the work-to list either runs, or it doesn't.

What you'll actually be doing

  • Checking your department's daily work-to list and flagging stock or warehouse issues to Operations Planning before they become build delays
  • Planning the staged release of work when a full BoM isn't in stock, so production can start on what's available
  • Coordinating with material handlers so every pick, and the tooling that goes with it, is in the right place at the right time
  • Working with the other kitting coordinators across departments to line up parts for larger projects
  • Following tooling BoMs through to completion, raising demand for damaged tooling, and keeping machine jig tooling assembled and stocked
  • Accounting for stock on cancelled work orders, including scrapping consumed parts
  • Working with our UIIL specialist to keep us compliant for work order audits and finished goods heading to the track

Please note this role is working on a night shift: Monday to Thursday.

Qualifications

What you'll need

Experience in a stock-controlled environment and with an ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365. Good MS Office skills, Power BI in particular. If you can find your way around Teamcentre and pull a drawing, that helps. Beyond the systems, this role needs someone who picks up the phone, chases the answer and takes ownership when a part is missing.

About Williams Racing

Atlassian Williams Racing is one of the world’s leading Formula One teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing, where it’s been winning Grands Prix for more than three decades.

The Williams name has been synonymous with top-level motorsport since the 1960s. After running teams on the sport’s nursery slopes, team patron Frank Williams founded Frank Williams (Racing Cars) in 1966 and he entered F1 in 1969 with his friend Piers Courage behind the wheel.

Frank quickly earned a reputation as one of the industry’s more determined individuals and after selling his controlling interest in his original team, he established Williams Grand Prix Engineering with British engineer Patrick Head in 1977. They built their first car, the FW06, the following year and the team immediately went from strength-to-strength. Atlassian Williams Racing is currently the third most successful team on the grid.
