Kitchen Supervisor - Sheraton Fallsview

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant kitchen to ensure smooth, efficient service and the consistent delivery of high-quality food. The Kitchen Supervisor works closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to maintain food quality, presentation, portion control, and kitchen efficiency while supporting staffing, training, and inventory management.
Hourly Wage: $20 – $25 per hour + gratuities
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring the kitchen team delivers consistent, high-quality food in a fast-paced dining environment
• Oversee all aspects of food production and preparation during service
• Ensure all dishes meet company specifications for quality, portion control, and presentation
• Monitor kitchen operations to maintain efficiency, cleanliness, and organization
• Assist in scheduling, supervising, and supporting kitchen staff during shifts
• Train, coach, and develop team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to standards
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations (Public Health, WHMIS, etc.)
• Lead by example to promote a safe and positive work environment
• Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction
• Assist in resolving guest concerns related to food quality in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• Commitment and passion for maximizing guest satisfaction at every stage of the guest experience
• Establishes immediate credibility with guests and staff – leads by example
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to maintain professional composure in a high-volume kitchen environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities related to kitchen operations
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop kitchen staff
• Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen environment required
• 2+ years of experience in a cooking or kitchen leadership role preferred
• Post-secondary education in culinary arts, hospitality, or related field considered an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook considered an asset
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Must have "Red Seal Certification"
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
