The Hermitage Hotel is looking for a Stores Person to be based on site and manage goods received for all departments of the hotel, particularly with regards to perishable goods, dry goods, and beverage. In this role you will be pick packing, using a forklift, undertaking stock management to ensure first in first out of perishable goods, stock checks, and helping with stock/inventory.
You will work both independently and as part of a team, with established systems and processes, to receive regular goods deliveries effectively; and ensure the smooth and safe running of our stores space. In addition to being responsible for perishables, dry goods, and beverages, you will also take delivery of equipment and items for all departments and returns for waste management.
What you will be doing?
• Receive and unpack incoming goods for the hotel, predominantly food and beverage.
• Pick pack products for outgoing transfers to all internal departments.
• Pick pack raw ingredients for the food & beverage production.
• Keep track of stock and assist with stock-takes.
• Unload containers of new product arriving.
• Check the quality and quantity of goods arriving.
• Use a forklift to move stock around the stores and extended property.
• Managing recycling and waste materials.
• Assisting the kitchen and food & beverage with additional support as required
• Liaising and collaborating with key colleagues in the Kitchen, and other departments

What will you bring to the role?
• Have an eye for detail, spatial awareness, and be good with numbers.
• Be completely aware and able to understand FIFO/ HACCP procedures associated with perishable products and working in line with food control plans, Simply Safe and Suitable.
• Be able to work independently, make effective decisions or escalate as needed.
• Prioritize workload to meet truck arrivals and outwards orders.
• Ideally have a forklift license and previous stores experience of six months of more.
• Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety, and manual handling
• Experience using PPE and manual handling.
