The Kitchen Steward is responsible for the pantry, the cold storage areas and for restocking the restaurant, snack and beverage areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving and accounting of all supplies.
- Unloading deliveries in a prompt and efficient manner, rotating, and stocking all supplies.
- Keep all cooking, prep, and beverage areas stocked.
- Keeps a record and documents all refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Keeps all storage and receiving areas organized, clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Assists in keeping all cooking and prep areas clean and sanitized.
- Responsible for keeping ice in the fountain drink dispenser.
- Breaks down boxes and disposes of them properly.
- Responsible for removing linen bags constantly during shift.
- Participates as a Team Member with Cooks, Prep Cooks, Supervisors, and all other pertinent company Team Members in ensuring an efficient operation.
- Assumes the responsibilities of Dishwasher when necessary.
- Follow all company procedures and health regulations at all times.
- Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.
- This position may require cross-training of both front and back of the house daily operations of the Food and Beverage Department.
- All other departmental duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- If driving is required for company business, must have a valid driver’s license, and be insurable through the casino’s insurance carrier.
- Good interpersonal, guest, and communication skills.
- Must be able to carry out tasks with or without limited supervision.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a gaming license through the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL:
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Environment is of high humidity with extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Noise level is low to moderate when in kitchen.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
