Position Overview:
The Kitchen Production Specialist is responsible for the production of prepared foods based on product levels intended to meet sales and shrink targets.  Timeliness of execution in preparing, cooking and cooling of product in order to meet delivery deadlines is crucial to this role.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Production of all food items following established recipes, accurately and efficiently, ensuring a quality product
- Participate in the development of new production recipes
- Follow systems in place to promote efficient operation of department
- Adhere to strict food safety regulations
- Clean assigned areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditions
- - Cleans shelves, bins, tables, coolers and floor on a regularly scheduled basis
- Wash hands frequently and use flexible gloves when handling all foods
- Maintain appropriate in-stock levels without excessive back stock
- - May re-order supplies and ingredients from a variety of suppliers, including local growers and producers, based on inventory requirements and/or coverage needs
- Possess an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, and cooking in accordance with Co-op standards
- Is able to maintain operations of the department in the absence of the Production Manager
- - May direct the work of others as needed
- Clearly and effectively communicates needs and/or concerns to the Production Manager
- Serve as a mentor to new staff in the department. Re-train staff as needed or requested, following set training program
- Act as a backup to the Packaging team if/when the need arises
- Adhere to all Co-op policies and procedures including the Employee Code of Conduct
-  Participate in department meetings and complete all required trainings for the purpose of maintaining Co-op standards
- All other duties as assigned

QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience and Attributes:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Kitchen or Restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow through
- Willing to hold self and others accountable
Attendance Requirements:
Monday through Friday daytime hours with flexibility to shift hours to meet production demands. Some evenings and weekends required with advanced notice.
